A wide view of Pollock Canyon, McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area

Pollock Canyon is located in the BLM-managed McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area in Western Colorado.

The Colorado River is not visible but is located about a mile outside the mouth of the canyon just above the last band of redrock. The Bookcliffs are visible in the distance just below the clouds. The town of Loma is about four miles north of this point but is so small that you can't really see it.

Pollock Canyon is accessible from the Pollock Bench Trailhead located about four miles southwest of the City of Fruita. Not too many folks hike up this way because there is no designated trail, but it is one of my favorite spots in western Colorado. This photo was taken about five miles south of the trailhead.
