The Colorado River, Black Rocks, and Wild Horse Mesa from Black Ridge, McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area

This photo is of the Colorado River running through Ruby Canyon about five miles upstream from the Colorado-Utah state line. This area is located within the BLM-managed McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area in Western Colorado.

The popular "Black Rocks" camping area is located on this side of the river. The redrock in the right center of the photo is Wild Horse Mesa. The canyon in the center of the photo just on the other side of Wild Horse Mesa is the McDonald Creek drainage that meets the Colorado River just upstream of the mouth of Knowles Canyon.
