Last Light over the Los Angeles basin, from the summit of Waterman Mountain in the Angeles National Forest
Waterman Mountain (sometimes referred to as Mt. Waterman) is located in the San Gabriel Mountains above the Los Angeles basin. The clouds in the background are "June Gloom" or the marine layer covering L.A. on this early summer evening.
Waterman is one of the nicest hikes in the Angeles National Forest - about five miles, only 1200' of elevation gain, and great view of the entire Los Angeles Basin. It's one of my favorite places to spend a night in the mountains.
