Chipping Sparrow

Chipping Sparrows have got to be one of my favorite backyard birds. I typically only see them during migration and I've been patiently awaiting their return. After a brief visit two days ago I awoke to the pulsating song this morning. I grabbed the camera and got ready to rumble as here was one of my two back/front yard spring migration dream birds (The other being the ever so stunning Rose-breasted Grosbeak). He was foraging on the lawn, mixed in with House and White-throated sparrows. Chipping Sparrows are smaller than most other sparrows in the area, so he wasn't hard to keep track of. He wasn't too fond of the House Sparrows and would frequently give chase to any that got too close.
