Keyhole - Pfeiffer Beach, Big Sur

Yes, I was there too. (Like everybody else it seems this past weekend.) It's only a short hour or so drive to this location form where I live but this was the first time I've made it here for a shoot. I've been waiting for optimal conditions and they have been present here in this part of California for the better part of a month. (We need a pattern change!!)

 

I not only wanted clear skies, but also a day when that annoying haze out over the water had disappeared and the evening tide was high enough to send some waves crashing through the keyhole.

 

Friday was the day for me and I think the conditions turned out pretty nice. A lot of other people thought the same thing. The beach was packed and I guess it was even worse on Saturday. Not my ideal shooting environment but a shot I still wanted to get and it was great to finally witness this amazing natural phenomenon. Thanks for looking. :)
