Alternative Light

I've been wanting to play around with infrared photography for years now, but always thought you either needed a specially modified camera, or to be shooting on film. I recently found out that if you use a filter that blocks visible light, while allowing infrared light through, you can still do infrared photography on a regular old digital camera.

That said, the amount of light being recorded by the sensor is significantly reduced. As a result, this image was shot on a tripod, with a 1 second exposure, despite being shot on a fast prime lens, wide open, at ISO 400.
