These polyhedra are constructed from isosecles triangles, containing an irrational number: (1+sqrt(5))/2, denoted as φ. The faces of the Great Dodecahedron are therefore called golden gnomons (ratio base/sides φ/1), those of the other 2 polyhedra golden triangles (ratio base/sides 1/φ).
