Self-made model catamaran

A small catamaran I built from reeds/bamboo/whatever, with a plastic bag as sail. This is one of many boats I've built for my kids from stuff found on the beach.

 

I've built tons of boats over the years and I think a catamaran is about the most seaworthy type of boat you can build from flotsam.

 

These boats can actually go quite fast if the wind is right, and you can even set a course with the rudder. Great fun for, ahem, the kids.
