Sheep nose bot fly / Schafbremse / Oestrus ovis

Well I know, it's misplaced to apply human standards on wildlife. But in terms of repulsiveness on a scale from 1 to 10 … to me this beast gets a well deserved 11!

Because: The sheep nose bot fly, Oestrus ovis, is a cosmopolitan parasite that, in its larval stages, inhabits the nasal passages and sinuses of sheep and goats. It also has been seen in uncharacteristic hosts such as people and dogs. Its geographic distribution is worldwide. Do a search on the www for further information and disgusting images ...

I found this critter 100 meters away from a sheep barn in middle august. Length 12 mm; the mouthparts are typically degenerated.
