Classic Manhattan

Last year, I flew to the USA and first attended a conference at the West Coast and then visited a group at Yale University for two months. At the beginning of my journey, I flew to New York and decided to stay one night in New York before continuing to San Jose. Since I wanted to be close to the airport, but still be able to see some things, I booked an Airbnb in Brooklyn Heights close to the Brooklyn Bridge Park, where I planned to spend my evening. After I arrived at the apartment, I went out for some food and then continued to the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The sun was already going down and I didn’t realize that I was high up at the Brooklyn Heights Promenade looking down at the Expressway which I would have had to cross somewhere, but since I didn’t even find a way down there I walked all the way to the Bridge and then down to the park. Luckily I managed to get there in time and I also found THE famous location to shoot the Manhattan skyline with a nice foreground. There were already a few photographers there, but I managed to find a nice spot and did some long exposures in the blue hour, where this one here turned out to look pretty nice. After taking this last image, it then started to rain a bit and hence I decided to get back to my room in order to get some sleep before continuing to San Jose the next day.

I didn’t even realize that I didn’t touch all my USA images for almost an entire year now, but due to Covid-19 I now have some time to edit a few of them. Hope you like this image (even though you might have seen this composition already hundreds of times) and I hope your all still healthy and doing well!
