the lake dredger
The lake dredger, in an interesting socioeconomic juxtaposition, looks on towards an Indian tourist being motored around the lake on "water skis" (tomorrow's photo features this).
Rather than dredging the lake by mechanical means, Kashmir hires these guys to do it manually, with little boats and big sticks. A necessary activity requiring constant attention, and given Kashmir's economic state, it reminds me of the WPA in America during the Great Depression.
