the photogenic haystack
I stood out in the cold on the beach with Laura and Ryan in what I look at as three parts to Cannon Beach. The first was the middle of the night, I was tired and disoriented; the second was predawn and colder than before; the third was when it warmed up and we went climbing around in the tidepools. I took a few mediocre shots, the two of them took some good photos of Haystack (L / R), but I just don't see the fascination. It's a rock.
I'm clearly a philistine and should be banished to the video ghettos of Flickr.
This was a about an hour and a half, maybe two, before sunrise, a three-second exposure with my Brownie Hawkeye on Ilford 3200. Grains as big as a baby's head.
