This shot was taken in very low light; color effect is from the flash - I rubber-banded the end of a strip of scrap developed negative over the pop-up flash cube on the camera and deflected it upward a bit with a 3x5 card and more rubber bands*. I find that I can use a strip once or twice before it begins to burn away at the negative, creating a nice "old-timey" flash smoke effect... and some most assuredly toxic fumes.
