Caffenol test 2

Top: Semi-optimised image

I was bored in town, waiting for some film to be developed, so I popped into Holland & Barrett and picked up some Asorbic acid (vitamin C). It can be used by itself to develop film, but it's reckoned to be super-additive with caffine. Todays brew (caffenol-C):

500ml water

8 teaspoons coffee

4 teaspoons soda

0.5 teaspoons Vit. C

GP3 @ 100 souped for 10mins @ 25C

I know, I know, invalid comparison, I changed more than one variable. I think this will make a better starting position though. The shorted dev time gives better contrast (less staining). The negs were still pretty faint, so I think I'll try giving them a bit longer next time.

I worked out the cost too, based on buying the smallest avaliable amounts of everything:

 Solution  Per 120  Per 135

Caffenol    £0.73    £0.44

Caffenol-C  £0.82    £0.49

LC29@1+9    £2.15    £1.29

LC29@1+19   £1.08    £0.65

LC29@1+29   £0.72    £0.43

Edit: Flickr sucks at tables, so this'll have to do.

Of course, developers like LC29 (my current developer) goes off, whereas the caffenol-C ingredients shouldn't. This gets interesting...
