Tockington Manor School (England, UK)
by Super-Cam
Originally built sometime in the 16th Century, this Manor House in Tockington, just north of Bristol in England, had its asymmetrical entrance front built around 1712 by a Mayor of Bristol with further building additions and adjustments in the 18th and 20th century.
In 1947, it became a boarding school, and is still educating children to this day.
Tockington Manor is special to me because I stayed here for a week in the summer of 1990 - it was an 'adventure' holiday for children who'd never been away from home before - it gave us a taste of freedom and beautiful surroundings that 'city kids' had never experienced.
Grateful thanks is extended to the Headmaster, Stephen Symonds, for allowing me to take images of inside the building, and the grounds.
