Murray Porter Band rocks Chinatown

Juno-award-winning Bluesman Murray Porter playing in the street in the shadow of Vancouver’s Chinatown arch.

They played a scorching set of Res Bluez’ – First Nations blues – to officially open Vancouver Native Housing’s Skwachàys Healing Lodge.

It was part of a street party held on Pender Street (between Abbott and Carrall) just shy of the Millennium Gate on Monday, June 11, 2012.

The building will house the Urban Aboriginal Fair Trade Art Gallery, 24 units of low income housing, and a medical stay facility for people traveling to Vancouver for treatment.
