England-made shave (Ever-Ready 1912, MWF & Havana)

Believe it or not, there has been so such thing as England since the Act of Union – and that was in 1707. All the same, this is my made-in-England shave set up, because that’s how the items are marked.

It’s absolute luxury on a shoestring budget.

In the centre is Mitchell’s Wool Fat, to my mind the finest shave soap you can get. I know some people struggle to get a decent lather out of it, but if you use it every day it leaps to life. I opted for the ceramic container as I love the vintage typeface.

On top of that is an Ever-Ready 1912, to my mind the smoothest, closest razor you can ever find. It’s impossible not to have a perfect shave with one of these.

Slightly out of shot to the rear is a Vulfix 404 badger and boar bristle brush. It’s the one with Grosvenor printed on the handle. The best brush on a budget.

To the right is Aramis Havana, which is essentially a bay rum on steroids. It is a beautiful blend of spices that lasts all day – perfect for an open-necked shirt on a sunny day. Again, it’s made in the UK.
