Arbor Low toppled stones

I've read different theories for why the 50 or so limestone blocks that make the stone circle of Arbor Low are on the ground. My guess is that they were toppled by the weather, as they all seem orientated the way the wind blows. At it screams at you. That's Derbyshire high-level moorland for you.
