Long-tailed Skipper - Urbanus proteus

Location: Sheraton Vistana Resort - Lake Buena Vista, Orlando, Florida

 

There were three or so of these beautiful skippers with shimmery blue bodies and long tails on the group of flowers I visited daily on my Florida trip. They skipped from flower to flower, never venturing more than a couple feet from the previous spot. This was probably my favorite butterfly of those I saw in Florida.
