Skunk Cabbage Plant

Location: Kohler Andrae State Park, Sheboygan, WI

 

Don't step on these. Skunk cabbage gets its name for the smell it emits, particularly when it's crushed. I noticed the smell long before I knew what the plant was called. Then when I found out it was called skunk cabbage, I understood why.
