August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse - Casper, Wyoming

This was my first total solar eclipse - and it won't be my last. What an amazing experience that pictures don't do justice. Seeing the moon completely block out the sun, allowing you to look directly - well it's a hard experience to explain.

The sky turns a brilliant color in every direction - a 360 degree sunset - and darkness falls over you. The stars are out in the sky and the city lights come on. It lasted a little over 2 minutes where we were but it felt like 5 seconds. I had to pull myself away from my camera so I could experience it and enjoy it.

Was it worth driving 2000 miles out here for 2 and a half minutes? Absolutely.
