Prescient Bean
I always enjoy seeing the bizarre juxtaposition of Cloud Gate sitting right in downtown Chicago — this giant, reflective legume among timeless art deco skyscrapers. While it's probably not the most flattering angle of the sculpture itself, this is always my favorite side when I visit. I think we take for granted the context of the bean itself as it's usually buzzing with people (a scene which also looks neat in its own way). From this angle, it's more apparent just how strange its placement is.
It's probably unlikely, but I wonder if anyone ever encountered Cloud Gate with no prior knowledge, having never seen nor hear of it before. That would be a nice way to experience it.
