Backward Matt
UNEN Teisatsu, Ballantine Class
The white cylinders on either side are sensitive active ladar arrays. Having them jut out to the sides improves accuracy and assists in range-finding. The ring that stretches over the top of the Teisatsu is a passive ladar receiver, one of the largest in the navy. Lastly, the light grey superstructures are for electromagnetic warfare, be it ladar jamming or soaking up other signals that would otherwise compromise the ship's location.
