Lippershey Refueling a Herschel
Element 274, Handwavium, Hwm 274- one of the heaviest elements known to Earth-kind; when refined and enriched, it forms the lifeblood of space travel because it is the primary fuel for the Tachyon Bubble Drives used to achieve faster than light travel.
For Earth's navy, it became readily apparent that something was needed something to refuel other ships in the heat of battle, so engineers took the Herschel Class as a springboard and created the Lippershey Class Combat Refueler. With similar armament, one notable difference is that the Lippershey has two hangar modules that hold utility shuttles for making minor repairs to other ships. Due to the shear weight of it's cargo, carried in the massive armored tank (orange), Lippershey class ships lack front and rear retrorockets and instead have a hybrid push-&-pull sub-light propulsion system; where it lacks in maneuverability, it makes up for with stability.
Shown here, the "Barbara" 10-G Lippershey Class refuels the "Carlowitz" 451-R Herschel Class.
