Sky Painting

I'm no meteorologist, but it looks like there was a spot of low pressure in the distance (the dark patch of clouds on the right) because that spot appeared to be creating the clouds going overhead.

There was never a time when you could see the sky in that spot, and there was always enough clouds to block the light from the setting sun in that area, which is why it's dark compared to the rest of the sky. It makes me think of a airplane releasing smoke at an air show, or maybe the tip of a paint brush. (which seems fitting for this style of photography)

I made this time stack by combining 177 photos into one image.
