the blurry way

i've long awaited the conditions to attempt one of these shots - finally got my chance from the balcony of a tree house in Hapuku, near Kaikoura.

 

unfortunately I had quite a fuzzy head and not much patience, so couldn't figure out a way to achieve good focus. went for what I thought was manual infinity as my best bet - apparently not.

 

but nevertheless, this was the result. some research required before next time I think.
