Stasi Bunker
Heute entführe ich Euch mal in ein dunkles Kapitel DDR-Geschichte.
Der Führungsbunker des Ministeriums für Staatssicherheit, kurz Stasi, des ehemaligen Bezirkes Suhl. Der Bunker wurde von 1973 - 75 erbaut und eingerichtet und sollte im Kriegsfall, Ausweichführungsstelle des Vorsitzenden der Bezirkseinsatzleitung (BEL) Suhl mit dem engsten Führungsstab sein. Zum Glück ist dieser Fall nie eingetreten, so das der Bunker bis zum fall der Mauer nur zwei mal zu Übungszwecken benutzt wurde. Nach dem fall der Mauer, noch vor der Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands, wurde der Bunker komplett ausgeräumt.
Ein benachbarter Hotelbesitzer erwarb den Bunker und richtete diesen wieder mit original Ausrüstungsgegenständen ein. Im Jahr 2004 konnte dann der Bunker als Museum eröffnet werden. Jetzt werden dort Führungen und als Zeitreise auch Übernachtungen angeboten. Diese Art Bunker gab es in allen DDR-Bezirken, es existieren aber nur noch 2 Bunker, dieser in Frauenwald und in Leipzig, alle anderen wurden abgerissen.

The command bunker of the Ministry for State Security, or Stasi for short, in the former Suhl district. The bunker was built and furnished between 1973 and 1975 and, in the event of a war, should be an alternative command post for the chairman of the district operations command (BEL) Suhl with the closest management staff. Fortunately, this never happened, so that the bunker was only used twice for training purposes before the fall of the wall. After the fall of the wall, before the reunification of Germany, the bunker was completely cleared.
A neighboring hotel owner acquired the bunker and furnished it with original equipment. In 2004 the bunker was opened as a museum. Guided tours and overnight stays are now being offered there as a journey through time. This type of bunker existed in all GDR districts, but there are only 2 bunkers left, this one in Frauenwald and Leipzig, all the others were demolished.
