#1 Rapidograph and Daniel Smith watercolor applied with flat Kuretake waterbrush on 10x7 Canson sketchpad.
Back to pen and wash today. Only my second attempt at water. My first attempt was one of my very first watercolors, done in the same park (in that one, I'm sitting in the shelter pictured here, looking across the pond to where I did today's sketch).
An attempt to sketch quickly as possible. My original intention was five minutes sketching in pen and five minutes painting. When it became obvious that I was breaking the first 5-minute pen limit, I just concentrated in finishing in 20 minutes.
The color in this isn't bold enough. I have found that this Canson paper is more heavily sized, so it doesn't take the color quite as quickly as Moleskine watercolor paper. Sometimes I forget. I was more bold in the next sketch. I might have done better on this one with a bit more time.
