Decay in "Steamtown"
Canadian National Railway 4-6-4T 47 was built in 1923 as class X-10-a. It was based in Montreal and was used exclusively in commuter service.
Following retirement in June 1959, it was sold to F. Nelson Blount for $2,000, and it became a part of his collection of steam locomotives at Steamtown in Vermont.
It made its way to the new "Steamtown" in Scranton and has been rusting to the rails ever since. This cute little thing is pretty unique and should find its way back to Canada where it might find a more loving home.
