Ama Dablam Star Trails
This weekend my girlfriend and I returned safely from an amazing month-long trip to Nepal. We pushed our physical abilities and comfort levels to the limit, but all said and done it was an experience of a lifetime. Still, it feels so good to be home! I'm so thankful for clean tap water, hot showers, flush toilets, warm beds, fresh vegetables, and so many other small things that we're quick to take for granted.
I'm still working through a wicked case of jet lag, but was able to process this image yesterday to start things off. The moon phase didn't provide dark skies needed to shoot the Milky Way during our trek (9:00 pm was the latest I stayed up the entire trip, so it was a small window), but I shot plenty of star trails sequences under the moonlight.
This image of Ama Dablam is a stack of 55 photos (just about as long as I was able to stand the cold), taken from the village of Dingboche at about 14,800 ft. (4,530 m).
Looking forward to sharing many more images, stories, and general thoughts from our trip - I've got tons of processing to do once I'm fully recovered and reintegrated!
