State Street - Chicago Illinois

State street once was (back in my salad days) the mecca for Chicago shoppers. It has since been superseded by Michigan avenue and, by an even greater degree, suburban malls. All that's left of the great downtown department stores is Macy's, the former Marshall Field's. Gone forever are: Carson's (now an-ugh-Target), Wieboldt's, Mandel Brothers. Goldblatt's, and Ward's. Sears still has a minor presence.
