Bucktown-A locus past.
In the fifties, the northwest corner of Charleston and Hoyne was the nexus of my childhood universe. There was a grocery store on the corner and just to the right of it in the photo was Mike's candy store-home of an endless variety of penny candies. The other three corner businesses at this intersection were taverns.
