Ex Class 103 Park Royal DTCL ADB977047 (M56156) - Wigan Springs Branch.

In a sorry state, former Park Royal Class 103 Driving Trailer Composite Lavatory (DTCL) ADB977047 (M56156) was awaiting disposal at the side of Wigan Springs Branch TMD on November 2nd 1985. The DMU car had been converted into a Sandite Car following withdrawal from passenger use in 1981. There were twenty x 2-car Park Royal DMU sets constructed at the Crossley Works at Heaton Chapel near Stockport in 1957.

The DMU car was buffered-up to a withdrawn Springs Branch breakdown train riding van, ADM395753. This had originally been an LMS Period I BTK coach, built at Derby in 1926 and numbered 5225. It became BR number M5225M and was withdrawn from passenger use in 1961. The coach was scrapped on site at Springs Branch in 1987.
