Class 76 Tommy 76028 - Reddish Electric Depot.

With one pantograph raised high, 76028 was stabled outside the workshop at Reddish Electric Depot on August 31st 1980.

The Tommy had been new from nearby Gorton Works as E26028 in January 1952. It became 76028 in November 1973, and lasted until the end of the Woodhead route in July 1981. Following a lengthy period in store at Reddish with other surviving Class 76 Tommies, 76028 made one last journey over the Pennines in July 1983 (Diesel hauled via the Hope Valley), before being reduced to 87 Tons of scrap metal by Booth's of Rotherham.
