Class 46 46008 - Derby.
Passing over some impressive looking trackwork, 46008 and its followers was approaching Derby with the Summer Saturday 10.02 Bradford Exchange to Paignton service (1V86) on August 5th 1978.
The loco had been new from nearby Derby Works in December 1961 numbered D145. It became 46008 in January 1973 and was made redundant just short of twenty years service, being withdrawn in October 1981 as the HST fleet took over the NE/SW services and the BR fleet was being decimated due to the then ongoing economic recession. After lanquishing with many other redundant Class 46 locomotives at Swindon Works, it was reduced to scrap in December 1982.
