Dorsett Shepherds Bush
Dorsett Shepherds Bush is a four-star hotel overlooking Shepherd’s Bush Green in West London. The building, Shepherd's Bush Pavilion is Grade II listed and started life as Pavilion Cinema in 1923. The Pavilion changed ownership a many number of times before closing its doors for good in 2001. It remained empty for over a decade before planning permission was finally granted for conversion into a luxury hotel. The re-built hotel, the Dorsett Shepherd's Bush finally opened in 2014.
The rich black and gold interior of the reception and atrium are quite stunning. There is a strong 1930's Shanghai influence which I assume comes it's Chinese ownership. An interesting fact about the hotel is that there is no fourth floor, the number four being inauspicious in Chinese culture, so the top floor is numbered a lucky eight.
This is straight from camera, the luxurious golden tones are as seen.
