Chapelle et Ermitage de Mayran

France is dotted with small chapels. "Notre Dame de Mayran", near Saint-Victor-la-Coste, is one of them. The chapel was first mentioned already 896. So it has a very long tradition.

The building structure is romanesque, but has lots of later addons. One is a small building, where hermits have lived. The last of the hermits here was murdered in 1915. There is a procession in May to this chapel from nearby villages - and there is a (french) website:
