Leaf Cycle

The pohutukawa, an indigenous tree in New Zealand, grows abundantly along the coasts and sheds its leaves on the sand where they change through a myriad of colours. Here they are pushed into the sand and backlight from the sun makes the colours glow. The location is Karekare Beach on the West Coast in Auckland, New Zealand.
