Yosemite Firefall - Feb. 13, 2016
Horsetail Falls
Yosemite National Park, CA
Once a year for approximately two weeks, the setting sun is aligned just perfectly to illuminate Yosemite's Horsetail Falls in such a way that it looks almost like a "lava fall" rather than a waterfall; a phenomenon known as "Firefall." Because Yosemite got a lot of snow just a week prior to this shot and then quickly warmed up considerably, the strong flow from Horsetail Falls combined with the clear sky made this a fantastic night to see and photograph the Firefall.
Thanks for your views, favs, and comments! Constructive criticism is always more than welcome!
