Dolly Sods Wilderness Area is located within the Monongahela National Forest of West Virginia. Along a highland plateau of the Central Appalachians, you can find unique windswept heath barrens, transformed a ruby red color during the autumn season, as well as unique sandstone outcroppings at Bear Rocks Preserve, an area owned and managed by the Nature Conservancy.
