Dark Constructivus No8

12by12 3.4 (large model)

My response to this challenge started (as these things often do) by a chance occurrence. I was sitting in my dining room (which also doubles as my office) drinking my morning cup of tea when the early morning light came spilling into the room, across a pile of packaging materials (cardboard, bubble wrap, paper, etc), causing bold shadows and crisp light. I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I used a method (I’m not giving all my secrets away) which builds multiple images in camera. [Note: 95% of these images content are created in camera, with a small amount of post production work; contrast, tone etc.] The results - www.flickr.com/photos/markrussell123/sets/72157650190598283

I then shot a set where I attempted to increase the complexity of the image:-

Finally, I deconstructed 40 large cardboard storage boxes and stacked them together to form a large rhythmical construction, which I first lit with an overhead tungsten light:-

Then lastly, I lit the structure from behind with a single LED light source:-

The multi layering of the structure being enhanced further by the multilayering technique I used in camera.
