The Sound The Sea Makes (Explore 24/12/18)
Photography is just a journey like so many other things in life; we make mistakes, some of us more than others, but hopefully we learn from them and do things better next time.
It is always interesting to see how styles and techniques develop and evolve over the years. This image is from my earliest days of using a DSLR, a time when I thought pixels were those little creatures at the bottom of the garden and exposure compensation was just getting dressed in the morning before going out on a cold day. I’ve still no idea what those words mean but I have read them in a book, a book which is now doing a sterling job of keeping the coffee table level.
So this image, although being 8 years old, is still one of my all-time favourites and after a little encouragement I’ve given it a little tweak following my normal workflow these days; a few nips and tucks, adjusted highlights and shadows, a little bit of split toning, a spray tan and finally a slight crop.
It was originally posted with a pink border! What was I thinking? It brought to mind the time as a teenager when I had one of those Starsky jackets which I wore with bright red jeans and cowboy boots. OMG! You’re probably better not thinking about that for too long!
Sadly for you I have not got any photos, you really would fall off your chair!
So that raises the question; what has been your worst fashion disaster?
The music for today is just mainstream pop. It’s got very little to do with this image apart from the fact that I like the tune and the colours reminded me of this photo; see I’m from simple stock. The video is quite wacky too, like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on acid and purely by coincidence the track is by LSD!
Now before you get any ideas, I’m firmly in the Grange Hill corner, ‘Just Say No’.
