November 17th: Flumes
Sunday. I'm beginning to hate Sundays. Generally we don't have much organised so I end up compiling a list of things to do around the house and the list grows so big that I know I'm never going to shift it all or even make a significant dent and then, instead of just setting aside an hour or two for selected jobs and leaving the rest for another time I get all stressed and worked up and do little bits of everything and end up feeling like I wasted the day.
And breathe....
One of the things I do want to make time for, however, is spending time with the family and especially our youngest, who has a tendency to sit in front of a screen of some sort for most of the day unless dragged away. I decided I'd leave the pile of paperwork that never gets done and the planned picture hanging and take him swimming over at Basingstoke, where the Aquadrome has a nice selection of water flumes.
Being tied up all morning with my never-ending list of jobs I hadn't been out with the camera but had the idea of photographing the flumes from the outside, which is just about the only chance I had to take a photo today and which you see here.
We tried the green slide today; it was closed last time we were here. This one goes really fast then empties out into a great big bowl, which you zip round a couple of times before sliding down through a hole into a splash pool below. I cut my shin and knocked my head quite hard on the wall but it was great fun.
