Austin Fashion Week
Here are some more images shot during the Austion Fashion Week 2012 event. I was stationed at Bella Salon & Spa in west downtown ATX.
As I mentioned in some of the other images from the event, I setup a large parabolic to my left to be used as either a large fill or to create a single light dramatic light source. Then on the right, I had a small 24" shoot through umbrella. Both were using the same strobes being triggered with optical slaves in case anyone else wanted to jump in and shoot also.
This subject Sanela is a local model, and yoga fanatic. She was an absolute delight to engage with. Laughing at my horrible jokes and reacting to whatever I needed to try and get a shot. Sometimes I find the best way to loosen a model up is take the attention off them when they are in front of the lights. For me, that works best when I'm the clown they see for entertainment. She is seen modeling clothes here for Supriya M Designs . Supriya's work is a lovely fusion of contemporary western silhouettes and forms constructed with beautiful Indian fabrics.
