Protesters and police
The protest zone at the San Diego Pride parade, University Avenue, Hillcrest; July 21, 2007
Shortly after I shot this photo and a few others in front of the protesters, one of the police officers told me to "get out of the street." The street I was in was blocked off because of the parade, so I was hardly impeding traffic, but that wasn't the point. They were trying to keep people moving to avoid confrontations.
A good idea, really; I moved along without complaint.
