Mexican Canyon Trestle Nestled in the Mountains of Lincoln National Forest
While at the Trestle Vista Observation Site with a view looking to the southeast to the namesake bridge in Lincoln National Forest. I had several thoughts in composing this image. One was to capture the bridge as it crossed the canyon from one ridge to the other, while seemingly nestled in between those high grounds with a forest of trees all around. The other was to pull back on the focal length such that I could capture, not just the bridge and some nearby surroundings, but also some of the more distant ridges, and include some of the overcast skies that had hints of blue skies. The rest of my thought was metering the image to not blow any of the highlights present in the skies above, while still being able to pull out the more shadowed areas in the forest nearby. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 6 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.
