So Many Look Forward to the Sunrise and the Start of a New Day (Capitol Reef National Park)

So Many Look Forward to the Sunrise and the Start of a New Day

But sometimes one needs a sunset to end the day

Enjoy your dinner and get some rest

To appreciate the morning that comes with a new day

So while the storm clouds gather

I will look to the sun and smile

Knowing a day was satisfied and fulfilled.

Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one late afternoon in Capitol Reef National Park while taking in a view of some sunlight coming through some storm clouds and walking the Sunset Point Trail. The view is looking to the west across this part of the national park. I angled my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward to include some of the nearby landscape as foreground as it led up to the more distant cliffs of the monocline and Waterpocket Fold. I think including that helped to balance out the storm clouds above, allowing the sunlight fill up the middle portion of the image.

I chose to work with Aurora HDR Pro to better bring that complete setting in the image, given what I felt was a large dynamic range. I later exported a TIFF image to DxO PhotoLab 5 where I did some final adjustments with contrast, saturation and brightness for the final image.
