There Is No Need for a Border Wall! (Big Bend National Park)
There Is No Need for a Border Wall!
Nature built one over millions of years
As the Rio Grande flowed along
Hundreds of foot high walls of limestone
A peaceful setting with a river
For one of the 63 US national parks
Grandeur
Peaceful
Tranquil
Beautiful
But not a tacky wall!
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one morning while walking along the shores of the Rio Grande in the Boquillas Canyon of Big Bend National Park. I?ve stood previously with these canyon walls towering all around; I?m always mesmerized by them as the calm, peaceful waters of the Rio Grande flowed by.
The view here is looking to the north while walking along the Boquillas Canyon Trail. The canyon wall caught in the morning sunlight are in the US; the walls on the right are in Mexico. My thought on composing the image was to use the lines with the canyon walls as they crossed each other and make a layered approach. Nearby would be the hiking trail with the large bush. Then would come the portions of the canyon wall caught in sunlight. Finally on the Mexican side of the border would be the other canyon walls still more or less in shadows. Blue skies above would be that color complement to the earth-tones in the lower portion of the image.
