A Voice Told Me to Stop at the Tree Bending Over

A Voice Told Me to Stop at the Tree Bending Over

You wouldn't regret it

A capitol idea, so they said

So I walked amongst the pines and pinions

A dusty trail leading my way

Up and down the rolling hills

Several miles walking in a national forest

Until I came upon the sight

And then saw beyond...

Wondrous heights of a butte and mesas

Blue skies and evergreens

A setting complete across northern Arizona.

Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one morning in Coconino National Forest while walking the Cockscomb Trail. My thinking in composing this image was to use the quite distinct, right angle bend in the tree and include that with the backdrop of Capitol Butte. Nearby would be more earth-tones present in the ground as well as greens and yellows in the nearby trees. Blue skies above would be a color contrast to complement the setting of the national forest.
