I Know Many Communicate With a Small Device (Grand Canyon National Park)
I Know Many Communicate With a Small Device
Telling the world their hopes, fears, and triumphs
So I will tell the world my stories of a friend I call nature
Showing that beauty of a creation started long ago
With canyons and mountains and valleys and ridges
I do so want to walk and explore, camera in hand.
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in Grand Canyon National Park while taking in views at Navajo Point. This view is looking to the west across temples, buttes, and so many other eroded formations present in this part of the national park. A small portion of the Colorado River can be seen in the left of middle portion of this image. By angling my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward, I felt I was able to create a more sweeping view across all these formations present. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 4 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.
